INSTRUCTION FOR USE
Universal Light-curing Restorative Composite
- Dimethacrylate oligomers (bis-GMA, TEGDMA, UDMA, bis-EMA, PEGDMA);
- Combined radiopaque filler from modified aluminosilicate glass (0.02-2.00 µm);
- Nanosized particles of silicon oxide (5-20 nm).
The proportion of inorganic filler is approximately 80 %.
Universal restorative material S-LIGHT is a hybrid radiopaque light-cured composite.
Composite can be easily shaped, does not stick to the instrument, cured under 400-500 nm wavelengths light and polished to a “dry” shine. Material S-LIGHT has fluorescence, color stability and radiopacity.
In order to simulate dental tissues, material is produced in a wide range of VITA shades and has three levels of opacity:
А1, А2, А3, А3.5, А4, В1, В2, В3, С2, D3, UD (Universal Dentin), BW (Bleach White)
Shades possess average transparency level between dentine and enamel, which depends on layer thickness. BW shade suits well for milk teeth restoration
Dentine-opaque shades (О)
Shades used to increase restoration intensity, cover discoloration, prevent through-transmission. Material is applied with layer not more than 0.5 mm
ТС (Translucent Clear)
Shade used for cutting edge modeling and depth effect
Universal restorative composite material S-LIGHT is used for:
- restoration of all cavity classes according to Black classification (I-V) on anterior and posterior teeth;
- restoration of tooth stump;
- correction of composite restorations;
- forming of indirect restorations (inlays, onlays, veneers).
Apply carefully with patients allergic to methacrylates
As far as all terms of storing, transporting and application are observed, there are no other side effects
METHOD OF USE
Attention! Material, stored at low temperatures, should be warmed in room temperature within 1 hour before use
Before restoration, dental tissues should be cleaned with non-fluoride paste.
Selection of shade
During selecting the shade of restoration material, surface of restored tooth should be cleaned and moisturized. The intensity of color of restorative material depends on its thickness. Suitable shades are determined at daylight or artificial light with the help of VITA scale assuming the thickness of intended restoration.
To test the material of selected shade, apply it on untreated surface of the tooth. Make a pattern with thickness of intended restoration and do polymerization. Estimate the compliance of shade with tooth color under different lights, then remove material from the surface of the tooth. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated until matching the shade.
Attention! In case of accidental contact with oral mucosa, eyes or skin, rinse the affected area with large amount of water
To ensure good adhesion of material, tooth surface should be thoroughly dried and prepared. For isolation can be used rubber dam or cotton rolls and saliva ejector.
Cavity should be prepared according to general rules of adhesive technology. It is necessary to round the corners, appeared during preparation.
In case of deep cavity, for pulp capping apply calcium hydroxide material and isolate it with glass ionomer cement.
Attention! Do not use eugenol-containing materials, because eugenol disrupts the composite’s structuring
Prepared tooth surface should be treated with etching gel based on 37% phosphoric acid. Gel is applied first on enamel surface, and after 5-10 seconds on dentin surface. In 15-20 seconds gel should be washed out with water. Dry the surface with compressed air. In case of saliva contact with etching gel or dried tooth surface, repeat etching procedure, then rinse and dry the surface.
Attention! In order to avoid bad adhesion of composite material to dental tissues, water for washing should not contain impurities. Air for drying must not contain any oil or water vapor
S-LIGHT Bond is applied with 2 coats on prepared surface of the tooth by gentle rubbing for 15 seconds. Then gently dry adhesive with air within 5-10 seconds for solvents evaporation. Do photopolymerization with light of 400-500 nm wavelengths within 20 seconds.
Application of composite and curing
Composite material S-LIGHT should be applied and cured layer by layer to reduce shrinkage of material.

Multi-layer method of restoration with different transparency pastes allows to create a highly esthetic restoration.
For toning of a composite restoration it is recommended to use LC colored (white, yellow, grey) composites S-LIGHT colour.
Attention! Composite paste syringe cap must be closed immediately after use. Intense light contact with material at any stage of restoration might cause premature curing.
During curing the waveguide end of the lamp must be kept in close proximity to the curable material. The intensity of the light, emitted by a lamp for photopolymerization, should be regularly tested with the help of suitable photometers.
Fillings treatment is carried out after final curing with the help of diamond, hard-alloy burnisher burs, burs or stones. Check the occlusion with articulating paper, remove the excess material with fine-grained diamond bur or stone. For final polishing use polishing discs, silicone heads and finishing polishing paste.

Keep in dry place protected from light at a temperature from 5 °C to 25 °C.
Transport at the temperature range from 5 °C to 25 °C.
Universal light-curing restorative composite S-LIGHT is non-sterile and aimed for multiple use.
Attention! Non-compliance with terms of storage, transportation or application leads to decrease of material life.
After opening of the package, guaranteed storage and service life of the material is limited by an expiration date. Do not use after expiry date.
Shelf life – 3 years.
